Minutes of Meeting RCPH Meeting #16 dated 26 Dec 23 Venue Girme School Time 7.30 pm. Fellowship by Rtn Gulu Jagat Attendees: Rotarians Nitin, Suhail, Ilyasbhai, Shabbir Poonawala, Nishrin, Badshah, Shabbir Nalwala, Hemant, Abbasbhai. Kunju Jadhav and Gulu Jagat Meeting commenced with the National Anthem 1. Rtn Ilyas Bhai updated that the helmet project was put on the web for rotary. District had called back to ask whether any funds are required for the project. It was proposed to ask for 1 lakhs. 2. In Girme school 32 students have asked for the helmets. Club President was also disappointed that the school is not very interested in having a relation with our club and have never invited us for any of their program. Rtn.Shabbir Bhai also reported blunt response from the principal and the school and also same response for the interact program. On the other hand the Shibli school has been very cooperative and have given thank you letter to RCPH and students have given thank you cards and also we have been invited for the science exhibition. Also Shiva valley school also gives a good response and invites for their programs. It was decided that Rtn Shabbir Poonawala will meet with the Principal of Girme personally. 3. On the health program in cloud 9. Rtn. Kunjan reported that it could be in the first week of January. 4. Regarding blood donation camp, Rtn. Badshah reported that he is still to contact Azam campus. Rtn. Shabbir P advised that now there is a demand for plasma donation rather than blood. But this has to be done in a laboratory. Rtn. Nitin advised that if anyone is interested he can take to the clinic and have a demonstration of the complete blood cycle. 5. For the Prakash Jyot Vidyalaya, we have not received many request for the helmets. We will wait for some time. Also the distribution of the stationary can be combined with the same. 6. Rtn.Shabbir Nalwala offered his resignation today in the meeting citing personal work due to which he would not be able to devote time for this. The club requested him to continue and if that is not happening Rtn. Nitin advised that he can still be in contact. 7. Rtn. Suhail reported on the science fair which RCPH attended in Shibli nomani school. Shibli had kindly invited for the same. The members who attended were Rtn's Shabbir P , Shabbir N, Abbasbhai and Munira, Suhail and Gulu Jagat. We attended the exhibition and interacted with the students. Also biscuits were distributed to the students. It was a very good interaction. The students also handed thank you cards to Rcph visitors. On interacting with the Principal and Management of the school they requested help in Teaching of English and communication skills. This was debated in the meeting and various options were discussed. Rtn. Badshah suggested that we hire one of the professional teacher to take classes. Rtn. Suhail suggested that we give rapid readers and we have a volunteering system committed for three months per volunteer to spend two hours every Saturday. It was decided to do this pilot project from January'24 and note the response. Then we can take it forward from June in a better way. 8. Helmet project report given by Rtn. Nitin. 32 schools are pending to be addressed. 5 schools have been completed. Office is checking the Google link and many times the link is blocked due to wrong punching. Around 800 pairs of helmets have been distributed till date. About 7000 pairs have to be distributed. It is not getting traction from the schools and the parents. The helmet is well designed and there is difficulty in getting the parents to sign up. We are not having cooperation from the principals on this program. 9. Rtn. Nisrin reported that she got a call from the district that they want to appoint an RYE for the club. And it was suggested that Rtn. Hussainbhai could be renominated as he has done it before. 10. Rtn. Badshah informed that we can do the kite flying with Mamta foundation on sankranti on Sunday. We decided that we can go ahead with this and lot of people should attend this. It was decided to give lunch as last year. Budget for the project Rs 4000/ 10. President Nitin advised that we should spend time on this project and we should insist on time for discussion with fellowship so that we can have interaction and exchange of ideas. Also this makes longer relationship. President Nitin insists that there should be follow-up on the projects that we execute. Like how he is following up on the kaldhari project. 11. Rtn. Ilyasbhai informed that income tax returns have not been filed for the Trust and that he is getting calls from income tax department for the same. He wants to resign on this account. Rtn.Abbasbhai informed that there is lot of work involved in running the trust and it was decided that we will close the trust. Shabbir P informed that the President of the Trust is not following up as he is not mobile. There is no followup and that is why we get humiliated and we are unable to run the trust. He is of the opinion that the President should allow another person to take over the work and run the trust. Also people should volunteer to run the trust. Rtn. Nitin informed that they have a CA with whom they interact only on the phone. They do all the work. It costs about 15K per year for the same. Rtn Ilyasbhai suggested that the trust fees should be same for all and it should be 1000/- . It will require 40K to maintain the trust and even to close it... . It is decided that we should have an AGM only to discuss the trust.. It is decided that individuals should post their opinion on the RCPH WhatsApp group only (not the rcph extra group). Individuals should have made up their individual minds before the day of the meeting and on the day of the meeting should vote for or against continuing the trust. It is requested that all members MUST vote on this issue. 12. It is decided to hold a contributory dinner in the 6 th January evening to celebrate the new year and have a great get together. It is requested that all should attend. Everybody should attend and those who don't will still also have to contribute ☺️. Shabbir P will assist in organising the dinner 13.
